Warren Mott Boosters Meeting Minutes
October 15, 2001

Call to Order: Nancy Krentkowski at 7:02

Administration - Mr. Mocny: Spoke first he had to attend Soccer game. Nothing to report and opened the floor to questions. Complaints voiced regarding the absence of soap in the girl's rest rooms and locker rooms. There has been a problem with soap being vandalized. Mr. Mocny will check into it. Another question in reference to the gun brought to school. Mr. Mocny explained that the student responsible has been expelled from school. Also, an envelope with powder was turned into one of the assistant principals. A lockdown resulted; police and fire department were notified. After analysis, the powder was found to be nothing. Last question concerned trainers and if they were present al all games, he indicated, yes they are. Minutes: Minutes of September 17, 2001 meeting were distributed and reviewed. Motion to accept minutes as written were accepted, and seconded. Motion passed.

Treasurer's Report: The September report and October preliminary were distributed and reviewed along with a separate page summing up profits from concessions thus far and homecoming expenses. A motion to accept the treasurer's reports as written was made seconded and approved.

Executive Reports:

President - Nancy Krentkowski: Welcomed everyone and thanked all for coming. She described her meetings as having a relaxed atmosphere and hoped everyone would feel free to participate and express their feelings and viewpoints. Thank you to everyone who helped with homecoming it was a big success. Requests for Warren Mott seat cushions currently looking into this. Two executive positions will need to be filled for next year; Vice President of Communications and a concession stand chairperson. Thank you's were read from the Golf team and from Leadership. Schwan's Fundraiser people wondered how delivery begins. Nancy will find out. K-Mart School Spirit envelopes were passed out. Mott receives approximately ½% from all purchases excluding alcohol, cigarettes, self-service counter and the K-Mart restaurant. Cards can be used in other states. Help needed to work concession stand for the middle school eighth grade position night football games. Games at 4:30, 6:00 and 7:30 p.m. on October 30, 2001. Sign up sheet passed around.

VP Fundraising - Denise McGraw: Homecoming went well and was attended by 915 students. There will be a Halloween Dance on Friday, October 26, 2001. From 7:00-10:00 P.M. Admission is $3.00 if you are wearing a costume, $5.00 if not. Parents needed to work the coatroom that night, sign up sheet passed around.

VP Fundraising - Chris Perry: Spoke of fruit orders need to be returned in the beginning of November. She mentioned the Road Rally taking place this Saturday October 20th. November 16th there will be a staff and student basketball game. This was changed from November 9th. There is a $3.00 entry fee for all that attend. It will begin at 7:00.

VP Athletics - Greg Garavaglia: Thanks to everyone for working security. Schedule for ticket takers all set for October. Will have December events next meeting. Asked for sports liaisons to talk about their teams. Golf went to regionals. Girl's Tennis had fantastic undefeated season. MAC Blue Champs, Division champ, WCS best in Warren. Boys Cross-Country 28 teams in the County meet, we came in 7th. One made all county. Girls Cross-Country placed 11th out of the 28 teams at the county meet. Girl's Swimming, five losses four wins. Football, not going so well this year parent night Friday October 19th. Banquet will be November 13th, 2001.

VP Communications - Becky Hetchler: This position will be open next year. The position gets information on cable, and keeping up the WEB site (WWW.GEOCITIES.COM/WMBOOSTER).

Membership: There were new members signed up tonight.

New Business: Concessions co-chairman position will be open next year. Health Council request for $250.00 donation from the Boosters. This fund helps families in need, dental, food, medical etc. Motion to give $250.00, seconded and motion passed. Request for girls Cross-Country $400.00 for timers. Motion for $400.00, seconded motion passed. Boy's Cross-Country requested $675.00 for a 10x15 tent. It will help runners to keep dry and warm while displaying Warren Mott on sides will show pride in our school. Motion to give $675.00, seconded and motion passed. Proposed amendment to Article 2.0 was passed out, discussed will be voted on at next membership meeting. It was noted that you must sign up each year to be an active Warren Mott Booster's member.

Committee Reports: All night party, parents have met twice so far next meeting will be October 25th at 7 p.m. at the school. They will be doing fundraisers, no chairperson yet for this event. Need for Booster's budget committee. Pat Zane will be on the committee want to get non-board members on this to review what the Boosters have done and will be doing next year. Parent teacher conferences November 8th. School Play November 1,2,3 "Snow White and Friends" 7:00 p.m. cost is $4.00 for Senior Citizens and children $5.00 for adults.
