Warren Mott Boosters Meeting Minutes
January 14, 2002

Call to Order: Nancy Krentkowski at 7:10

Minutes: Minutes of November 19, 2001 meeting were distributed and reviewed. Nancy accepted minutes as written. Minutes stand as written.

Treasurer's Report: The November, December and preliminary January reports were distributed and reviewed. Nancy accepted reports as received.

Executive Reports:

Administration - Mr. Mocny: Wished everyone a safe and happy new year. Reminded all mid-term week this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

President - Nancy Krentkowski: Mentioned Snow Coming dance will be March 2, 2002. The boosters donated left over concession stand candy to the Kmott store. Schwan's income so far is $31.52. From Warren Consolidated Schools boosters received $2,720.00 for fall sports security. Nancy will attend the January 22, PTO/Boosters sharing session. Will need two people to chair concessions for next year. Will need VP for Communications position. Still have Kmart school spirit packets. Warren Mott Bowling Club has a midnight doubles fundraiser, passed around flyer. Our next Boosters meeting will be February 11, 2002.

VP Academics: - Denise McGraw: Thank you to all who helped at the December dance. Snow Coming dance in March will need help for coatroom, banquet tables and decorating. Passed around sign up sheets. Will need volunteers to review Veramay Scholarship papers. Passed around a sign up sheet.

VP Athletics - Greg Garavaglia: Passed around February calendar of sporting events for ticket takers. The Dance Team on January 5, 2002 placed fourth in a competition held at the Palace. This was in a competition of at least 26 teams! Wrestling competition also on the 5th, Warren Mott placed 5th out of nine. Freshman Eric Mills placed first. Boy's swimming will have their first relay end of January. The team has to swim at Cousino because of pool problems at Mott. Girl's volleyball, JV undefeated in league play. Varsity won tournament held at Warren Mott. Freshman placed first at the Avondale tournament held December 15, 2001. The school received a trophy and the girl's medals. Placed second at Lasher tournament in the Gold Division the school received a trophy. February 1, 2002 the Dance team going to Nationals in Orlando.

New Business: Request for support to purchase duffle bags for the Wrestling team. Motion to give $300.00 for the purchase of the bags made and seconded, motion passed. Reverse Raffle, Pat Zane not here however no paper work back yet for the license may have to do this in the Fall.

VP Fundraising - Chris Perry: The staff and student basketball game brought in $998.00. Will be looking into a staff and student Volleyball game. Chris will be selling suckers on Valentine's Day. Mott Millionaire to be held after Easter and make it a desert extravaganza we are looking at 4/21/02 for this event. Closest to the Pin contest working on prizes. Fruit Sales this year sold 233 boxes last year 285.

Committee Reports:

Membership: There were two new members bringing the total to 148 members.

VP Communications - Becky Hetchler: Mid Terms this week. Next All Night Party meeting January 17. No school on January 21. Thespian Society is producing "Steel Magnolias" January 23 and 24. February 6, Macomb Community College Career Expo. February 9, All Night Party Moonlight Bowling fundraiser. February 14, Winning Futures Assembly. February 18 Winter Break. All Night Party - next meeting January 17. Still selling Krispy Kreme cards, and Meijers gift certificates. Bowling Fundraiser February 9.

Budget Committee - Meeting was held, went over previous years items, bills and checks. Came up with costs, need over $10,000 for next year operating expense. Income so far from August through December is $11,526.00. This is from concessions, fruit sales, security, Staff student basketball game, 50/50. Will have this information available at next Boosters meeting.
