Minutes: Minutes of January 14, 2002 meeting were distributed and reviewed.
Motion to accept minutes as written were accepted, and seconded. Motion passed.
Treasurer's Report: Treasurer’s reports for January and the February preliminary
were distributed and reviewed. Motion to accept treasurer’s reports as written
was accepted, seconded, motion passed.
Executive Reports:
Administration - Mr. Mocny: Reported that the school will be getting a new
marquee out front.
President: Denise McGraw reporting Kmart school spirit is business as usual.
Schwan’s is generating income. The next Sharing meeting will be on February
25th at the Administration building at 7:00 p.m. In need of VP of Communications
can do this position as a team. In need of person or persons to chair concessions
for next year.
VP Academics: - Denise McGraw: Denise reported Veramay’s would be available
at the counseling center Friday March 1st. Completed forms must be back March
27th by 2:00 p.m. Need help with decorating for Snow Coming Dance March 2nd.
VP Fundraising - Chris Perry: Selling Valentine Suckers for 50 cents on February
14th from 7-7:30 a.m. Staff and student Volleyball game will be March 15th 7:30
p.m. Since this is a fundraiser admission will be $3.00. No passes accepted.
Mott Millionaire to be held on April 21, 2002 admission $3.00. This will allow
you to watch the game, and have a choice of dessert. There will be a sign up
sheet for dessert making at next meeting.
VP Athletics: Swimming, at County Meet out of 22 schools Warren Mott finished
5th! One of the swimmers made it to State. Swim banquet to be held March 26th.
There will be a Swim-a-thon fundraiser to raise money for coats. For information
see Mr. Kovacs or coach Weston. Wrestling, districts tournament placed 4th with
two first place winners. Dance team went to Nationals, in Florida, and placed
10th in Poms in the small varsity division out of 23 teams! They also finished
20th in Jazz.
VP Communications - Becky Hetchler: Career Prep Center open house will be February
12th. All Night Party decorating meeting will be February 26th. All Night Party
General meeting February 28th. Mott Rodder open house is February 13th. (www.geocities.com/wmbooster).
Membership: Two new members signed up bringing membership count to around 148-150.
New Business: Warren Consolidated School TV station asking for a donation.
Motion to give $200.00, seconded, motion passed. Science Olympiad, Mr. Sepke
asking for $200.00 for t-shirts for the students going to regionals at Macomb
Community College. Motion to give $200.00 made, seconded, motion passed. Techno
Club, Mrs. Pefly asking for $400.00 to help sponsor an educational trip May
16 through the 18th. Motion to approve $400.00 made, seconded, motion passed.
Leadership, Mr. Mutschler mentioned how great it is to have help from the Boosters
in running the coatroom for dances. Asking for donation of $499.50 for folding
coat rack. Mr. Mocny will ask the district first, in the event they will not
purchase a motion to give $499.50 was made, seconded, motion passed. Also asking
for $1,000.00 for Prom to help keep the cost of tickets down. Motion to give
$1,000.00 made, seconded, motion passed.
Committee Reports:
All Night Party - All night party decorating meeting February 26th, 2002 7:00 p.m.
General ANP meeting February 28th at 7:00 p.m. All night party may need to ask for an additional $1,000.00.
A question was asked if the Boosters are doing anything in memory of student Brian Ball? Mr. Mutschler indicated students would be raising funds in his memory for Make A Wish Foundation. Motion to give $50.00 from Boosters to this fund, seconded, motion passed.
