Warren Mott Boosters Meeting Minutes
March 18, 2002

Call to Order: Nancy Krentkowski 7:10

President: Nancy had a few reminders. Boosters News will be included every time the Mott newsletter goes out. Mott Millionaire will have a $3.00 admission fee. Kmart School spirit still going on. Schwan’s still going on be patient if you have not been contacted for delivery. Need VP Communications for next year, more than one can do this position perhaps one can do cable information and one do the web site. Person or persons to chair concessions for next year. Denise spoke up and stated, actually we need someone to handle the 4:00p.m.games. Thanks to Denise McGraw and crew for Snow Coming. Loony Tunes bowling fundraiser 4/13/02 $20.00 per person at Sunny Brook lanes. WCS education foundation asking for donation.

Minutes: Minutes of February 11, 2002 meeting were distributed and reviewed. Noted Veramay spelled incorrectly. Motion to accept minutes as written were accepted, and seconded. Motion passed.

Treasurer's Report: Treasurer’s reports for February and the March preliminary were distributed and reviewed. Motion to accept treasurer’s reports as written was accepted, seconded, motion passed. Pat indicated we could expect more income.

Executive Reports:

VP Communications: April, spring break coming up. All Night Party next meeting 4/11/02 7:00p.m. Mott Millionaire 4/21/02. MEAP testing begins week of 4/23/02. Girl’s soccer team web site will be linked up to Boosters site. (WWW.GEOCITIES.COM/WMBOOSTER)

Membership: Updated the list.

Administration: Mr. Mocny reported half day of school on 3/20/02 no school in the morning. Students are getting prepared for MEAP will have delayed start times 4/23, 4/30 and 5/2. Requesting $400.00 for refreshments in the morning during this testing. Motion to give Mr. Mocny $400.00 made, motion seconded. Motion passed. Put in a bid for the church next door and its 5-½ acres will be going before the WCS Board Wednesday.

New Business: Robotics club request for $500.00 to help with expenses for the program and competition. Mr. Callendar explained what the club is and does and they are working with GM engineers to create robots for use. Motion to give $500.00 made, and seconded. Motion passed. Bowling club requesting $150.00 the entrance fee for the JV and Varsity teams going to State. Motion to reimburse Mr. Jerry Tarabek $150.00 made, motion seconded and motion passed. JV and Varsity girls’ soccer requesting $600.00 Mr. Gordon to purchase sports bags. Soccer asking for 50 bags, swimming team asking for 25. Motion to give $600.00 to purchase 75 sports bags made, motion seconded and motion passed. JV baseball requesting $300.00 to purchase L-screen, for pitching protection, and to purchase three Tees. Motion made, seconded and motion passed.

VP Academics: Denise reported Veramay applications are due 3/27/02. Snow Coming Dance, 600 students attended thanks for all those who helped out.

VP Fundraising: Sold Valentine suckers made $42.00. Staff and student Volleyball game had 132 persons attend. Selling raffle tickets for a pair of first round hockey playoff game. The cost is $1.00 a ticket. Mott Millionaire to be held on April 21, 2002 admission $3.00. This will allow you to watch the game, and have a choice of dessert. Passed around sign up for dessert making and help that day. There will be three team prizes, first place $250.00, second place $150.00, and third place $100.00.

VP Athletics: Spring sports just starting. Dance team competed at Royal Oak Kimball H.S. and placed 4th in Poms and also placed in Jazz. JV Volleyball did well tied first place in districts. Mott hosting two big track events May 17th and May 28th.

Committee Reports: All night party asking for the budgeted $1,000.00 tonight. Are in need of senior baby pictures. Next meeting 4/11/02 7p.m. Continue to meet on Wednesdays for decorating. Selling raffle tickets and Morley candy. Health Council, thanks to all who gave a donation on conference day collected $195.48.
