Warren Mott Boosters Meeting Minutes

October 21, 2002

Call to Order: Nancy Krentkowski at 7:05

Nancy welcomed everyone and extended a thank you to Denise McGraw for the great job on Homecoming. Warren Consolidated Schools sharing meetings are starting up again; anyone interested in attending these let Nancy know. Boosters board positions will be opening up for next year, please give this your consideration. So far, Schwan's income of $30.57.

Minutes: Minutes of September 16, 2002 meeting were distributed and reviewed. Minutes accepted as written. Read thank-you correspondence. Treasurer's Report: The September final report and October preliminary were distributed and reviewed. Nancy accepted reports as received.

Executive Reports:
VP Academics - Denise McGraw: Extended a thank you to Chris Perry for working on the 300 ornaments that will be available for sale at conferences November 7th. Also, thanks to Randy and Kelly Akins for helping with concessions this year. And to all of the volunteers who have worked concessions, and homecoming. Veramay scholarships need someone to chair this and need a committee to read the applications for these scholarships. You cannot be the parent of a senior but all others are welcome and needed for this. Need help for the JV football game 10/24/02 concessions passing around a sign up sheet. Need coat room help for the November 1st, dance 7:30-10:30. Also, will be in need of person/persons to run concessions for next year. If we do not have anyone there will be no concessions.

VP Athletics - Greg Garavaglia: Thank you to all who have helped in ticket taking, security, chains etc. We should be receiving a check in the amount of $2,500 for the fall security we provided. Report on cross-country girl's MAC winners, divisional winners one made all county. Girl's tennis some made MAC champs and their banquet is November 8th. Girls swimming, two more meets yet have won 4 lost 7, building a strong dive team. November 12 is the banquet. Their bake sale at homecoming brought in $510.00. Girl's basketball Varsity plugging away won 3 games JV is doing well. Varsity football won the MAC Blue division and are going to states, the first time in over 12 years!

VP Communications Steve Kranson: Continues to update the web site www.warrenmottboosters.com has bowling information and the company Imprints information. We are working with Imprints on the possibility of getting a Warren Mott Boosters banner to hang at events. Pictures, calendars, events all are welcome get the information to him to be posted. Our web site is awesome - if you have not visited it yet please take a few minutes to do so!

VP Fundraising - Chris Perry: Seat cushions bought 100 sold 65, lanyards bought 100 sold 56. Autographed Dominick Hasek jersey tickets are $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00 winning ticket will be pulled the evening of November 7. Fruit sale, as of right now only have 4 boxes sold will need more to place an order. Reverse Raffle will be held April 8, 2003 at the K of C hall east of Mound road. More information will be coming. Ornaments will be sold at conferences. Staff student basketball game to be held 12/6/02. This is a fundraiser; admission for everyone is $3.00.

Membership - Pam Gonzalez: Membership is up to 127.

Administration: Mr. Mocny informed that striping of the annex parking lot is completed. The only way to the back of school is through the annex lot or west lot only. Someone asked what are the plans for the annex building. Not sure at this point. Talked about the upcoming plans for school improvements windows, doors, air conditioning etc.

New Business: Request from Coach Tarabek to help with the cost of the bowling club. This is not a recognized varsity sport so funds are needed to operate. Motion to give $300.00 made and seconded, motion approved. Mr. Tarabek thanked Steve Kranson for getting the bowling information out on the web site. Coaches Collins and Schmidt request for rugs to be used for boys and girls basketball and volleyball games. Motion to give $200.00 made and seconded, motion approved.

Committee Reports: All Night Party. There is no "committee" at this point. This party is in jeopardy unless senior parents step up to work on this event. At this time, contracts are usually signed for games, DJ's and such. Pam Gonzalez and Jean Wangler will try to get parents involved. Please senior parents this is for your child. If you would like to give of your time and talents please call Jean Wangler at 586-573-6191 to volunteer.

A request was also made for the Health Council support. This council helps WCS students and families in need. Motion made to give $250.00 and seconded, motion approved.
