Warren Mott is 501C3 and new Bi-Laws were written for the Booster Club. If any one would like to read them and make changes, let us know for the next meeting. We would like to make a change for the contribution from the Booster Club for a passing of any Mott student. In addition, that the liaisons are to attend the booster meetings. We are still collecting the computer ink cartridges; there is a box in the library. National Honor Society students can work the concession stand and flags to earn their hours for NHS. The family pass for the sports does not include grandparents. We do have a senior discount. Leadership is short of money this year. The Booster Club ordered tattoos for the homecoming game class of ‘06, ’07, ’08 and ‘09. They will be on sale at every lunch hour. The Booster Club is selling pullovers for $35.00 and Polo shirts for $22.00. The paper recycling is not making a lot of money, the biggest check we received is $17.00, but to stop it will cost $40.00 to remove the bin. We did not renew Schwans this year; they are doing their fundraiser different this year. Every month there is one special item, this month ice cream. We did not cancel with them, so we do not know if they will still honor Warren Mott as a fundraiser. VP of fundraising position is still open. It is not a hard job, sell seat pads at the concessions and do the computer ink jet cartridges are the only jobs we have for this position as of now.

VP Academics – Nancy Brown: Help is needed for the ice cream social this Wednesday at 6:30. Help is needed for decorations on Saturday morning at 8:00 am for the homecoming dance. Homecoming dance help is needed at 6:30 pm, concession, coat room, security, clean up. We ordered six maroon aprons for the people that work 50/50 at the games. Total cost is $38.22. Looking into buying a slurpee machine. A new machine with 2 heads runs about $9,000.00 4 heads $14,000.00 to $16,000.00. A price on a used machine could run $1,500.00 to $3,000.00 with 2 heads. This serves 600 people. 16 oz cups could run about 10 cents each. Service on machine is to change washers yearly. This is a table top, but will need a water line ran to the machine. We could service coke, Warren Con does have a coke contract. The amount we will charge for each cup was not discussed as of yet. Motion was made not to exceed $4,000.00 but also needs a service warranty, by Judy Hurt, second by Shirley Cordor it was voted and passed.

VP Athletics – Garry Wolff: We are in need of volunteers to work freshmen games on Thursdays, Garry has sign up sheet. We also need help to work the girl’s basketball games. The Booster Club is selling concessions at the games. Thank you to everyone who has helped with chains, concessions and security.

VP Communications – Martin Heitkamp: Steve Kranson said he would help with the website until we get the Dream Weaver software. To purchase the Dream Weaver software, it will cost a teacher or student $100.00 not a teacher $300.00 Motion was made by Julie Sroka to up date the booster web site for $150.00 second by Judy Hurt it was voted and passed. A notice was placed on the cable news about the paper-recycling bin.

Membership – Debbie Willard: Make sure everyone signed in and add your e-mail so she can e-mail you only regarding the next meeting dates. Member count is 136 members. We had parents fill out the registration forms when students picked up their schedules, we collected $550.00 in membership contrubutations.

VP Concessions – Diane Portis: Diane has been running concession and doing a great job. We have been receiving help from NHS students, and can always use a lot of help. Do not feel you have to help the whole football game, if you want to leave and see the half time show that is fine. We can use any help you can give. Cannot get TV to work in the concession stand to see the football game. There are many jobs in the concession stand and it is a lot of fun. If you help, you will receive free food and drinks for helping that night.

Administration: Mr. Brad Martin: Mr. Martin is the new principle for Warren Mott High School. He was the assistant principle at Warren Mott four years ago. He is very happy to be back at Warren Mott with all of us. The 45-minute delay start will start on Monday, October 10, 2005. The reason for this is to allow teachers time to share ideas and to make the classroom time more efficient. We lost the ½ days off, but did add full days off. These hours will work better for high school, then middle school and elementary. There is a heavyset man with no front teeth that is going around to companies selling ads for the sport calendar. He is saying that he is representing Warren Con and Warren Mott High School He does not represent Warren Mott or any other Warren Con school. Let the businesses in the area know this is not a valid fundraiser. In addition, if he should come to the business to notify the authority. This week is Homecoming week and it will be very busy week for Mr. Martin. Questions for Mr. Martin:
Can the newsletter go out every month? No, for High School it goes out every 3 months.
In the newsletter, can we have a counselor corner? Mr. Martin will check into that idea.
Can we have a night meeting with the counselors so we can find out when the ACT test are and the other information the junior and senior parents need to know? Yes
Was the yearbook handed out from last year? It will be passed out this week, and mailed to seniors.
My child paid for a sport pass but when she received her student ID the sports pass was not printed on the ID. Yes, there were some problems with the printing of the ID’s, but there should be a list at all games on what students paid for the sports pass. When will she receive a correct pass? We are working on the problem. Student can take copy of receipt that she paid for the sports pass and there will be no problems entering the games.
On the form that was printed to pay for all the sports, yearbook ect. We were under the impression that the Freshmen are FREE. No only, the freshmen games are free, if a freshman comes to a varsity game they will have to pay. The form will be corrected for next year.
The delay start – how will this affect Butcher? This is being worked on. Mr. Martin will have more information, give him a call.

Athletic Director David Noble: Thank you to everyone for all their help. We will be hosting three major track dates this year, regional, divisional, and county. We will also be hosting volleyball district game. The sports has a new website www.highschoolsports.net , you will be able to see the game schedules, get a map to the high school the game will be at. And if there are any changes in the games, you will receive an email message.
We are the only school district that does not charge for the freshmen games, and the lowest of admission. Questions:
Regarding fundraising, can we receive information on what the team is fundraising for, and can we have the option to give a donation to the team and not do the fundraising? Mr. Noble will check into this.
Last April we had a meeting regarding the Right and Wrong with the sports program, what has come of this information we as parents gave? They worked 8 hours on a coach handbook. And will meet again on the student and parent handbook. The sports department has received a lot from this meeting. The track and tennis courts have been repaved. New sprinklers for the soccer field, irrigation in the practice football field. The baseball field leak has been repaired.

New Business:

Mr. Schmidt ran a summer youth basketball camp for 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th graders. They would like to purchase two 10ft rims that can be adjusted to 6-7ft to teach the youth students how to shoot the proper way. These can be used for the basketball team. It will adjust to 10ft. The cost is $1,500.00 the athletic department gave the money for one. The girl’s basketball team raised $500.00. Mr. Schmidt is requesting $1,000.00 from the booster. Pam Cochran made a motion for the $1,000.00 request, Julie Cooper seconded, and it was voted and passed.

Coach Wright – Runs the Champs Corner marketing program. The Mott store is open before first and second hours. It will be open for the parent teacher conference and after school. They are selling varsity jackets, and school supplies. You can receive a 10% discount with your Mott card, and there will be a discount with the report cards.
