Call to Order - The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM.
President: Lynn DiBartolmeo: Thanked everyone for attending. Also, thank you to Brian White and Jon Green for attending the meeting
Minutes Secretary – Sharon Ouvry: The report was read. Brian White made a motion to accept the minutes, Sandy Stevens second, the minutes stood approved.
Treasurer’s Report – Doug Ouvry: The report was read. Brian White made a motion to accept the report, Pat Shaw second, the report stood approved.
VP Academics – Nancy Brown: Thank you to Debbie Walsh and Lynn DiBartolmeo for all their help with the decorations for the Snowcoming dance. The dance turned out great, everyone had a good time, and no problems. The Spring Fling is coming up in April, help will be needed for that dance.
VP Athletics – Garry Wolff: Passed out a sign up sheet for volunteers for Wednesday March 1, and Saturday March 4, for volleyball districts.
VP Communications – Martin Heitkamp: Thank you to Steve Kranson for all his help with the website. The All Night Party has been added to the website. If you would like pictures or any news added to the website, just e-mail him. He will be adding maps to the other schools. There is very old photos on the website, asked if anyone had a problem with him deleting this old information. No one had a problem with deleting. The coffee maker is between Warren Mott and a Church; he is still working on getting it for the school.
VP fundraising - Judy Hurt: The new box for the ink toners is in the front office.
Membership – Debbie Willard: Was unable to attend.
VP Concession – Diane Portis: Concessions are going well. We will need a lot of volunteer help for baseball, softball, and track.
Administration: Mr. Brad Martin: Each Monday morning the teachers have working on PLC. Teachers are doing a great job, and working on the MEAP test. There are preparing the children for the math test. Their goal is to get the MEAP scores higher. There was an article in the newsletter for the All Night Party; volunteers are needed from all grades. Mr. Martin is asking the booster club to fund $3,000.00 for a new electronic sign for the front of the school. The school is responsible for a 1/3 of the cost, he is asking the Band Boosters and Leadership to donate $3,000.00 each, and this was tabled for the next meeting. We are in the process of getting the flood light for the flag in the front of the school.
Question: Has the National Honor raised the GPA to 3.5 from a 3.0? Mr. Martin did not hear of this he will check into this question.
Question: Is there a problem with the parking lot lights in the back of the school? Last Friday night at the basketball game, there were no lights on. Mr. Martin will check into this problem.
Athletic Director: David Noble: Was unable to attend.
Athletic Liaisons: Wrestling: 5 boys went to regional and one qualified, Bobby Kohenos is going to state
Swimming – we have great coaches this year – Andy Bourbeau places 2nd in 200 free and 5th in 500 free, Cayce Bolt 1st in Diving, Eugene Llchenko 6th in diving and Chris Czapp 5th in diving. In bowling, regionals were this week Varsity boys came in 4th Varsity Girls 3rd, JV boys 2nd and JV girls in 4th place. In regional, Patrick Griffin came in 10th place and Megan Henkel came in 18th place. JV championship Joshua White finished in 10th place. Freshmen basketball is doing great they are 17 -2 and have won the last 9 games. Baseball try outs is March 13, 2006
Quiz Bowl – Is undefeated!
New Business:
Baseball and softball - Coach Maloney was at the meeting asking for funds for the new freshmen softball and baseball teams. He was asking for $500.00 for new softball bags and $600.00 for new baseball bags. Question? Will the new bags go to the freshmen or to the Varsity team and the freshmen get the old bags? He was not sure, will have to check into how many bags are needed and the condition of the old bags. Will the fields be ready? They should be, they are already working on them. Mary Herzig made a motion for the $500.00 for softball bags and $600.00 for the baseball bags, Laura Bielski second, all in favor, motion was passed.
Bowling - Mark Kovach asked for $369.00 for ½ of the money for the bowling shirts. Bowling is not a Varsity sport and is not funded by the district. Motion was made by Rose Howard for the $369.00 for ½ the price of the shirts, second by Debbie Walsh, all in favor, motion was passed.
Veramay Scholarship – Lynn was asking volunteers to read the applications of the senior students for the scholarship. The volunteers cannot be senior parents; we need a chairperson to get in contact with the counselors to get the letter out to the students that qualify. Susan Brown volunteered and will chair the committee, Nancy Brown, Sharon Ouvry, Debbie Welsh and Sue Langer volunteered to read the applications.
Coach Wright has received new merchandise at the school store. The store will be open after the meeting if anyone would like to shop. Question? Kids are asking why most of the things in the store is from football? Mr. Wright heard this also, they have merchandise from all the sports.
Lynn is checking into the Fundraising checks from the Target stores. Target said they have been sending checks to the school in Mr. Adams name. She spoke to Mr. Martin; he has not seen any checks. She is going to try to find out where the checks have been going, and who is getting the money.
Also, she would like to check into getting another slushy machine; the first one is doing so well at the concessions. With the baseball and track season coming up, she feels and second machine will be needed. Rose Howard made a motion for $3,000.00 for a second slushy machine, second by Sandy Stevens, all in favor, motion passed.
Committee Reports – All Night Senior Party – Sharon Ouvry chairperson: Next meeting will be after the booster meeting tonight and the next booster meeting. We need help from all parents.
