Call to Order - The meeting was called to order at 7:07 PM.
President: Lynn DiBartolmeo: Thanked everyone for attending.
Minutes Secretary – Sharon Ouvry: The report was read. Pam Cochrane made a motion to accept the minutes, Debbie Walsh second, the minutes stood approved.
Treasurer’s Report – Doug Ouvry: The report was read. Gail Black made a motion to accept the report, Sandy Stevens second, the report stood approved.
VP Academics – Nancy Brown: We need help at concessions, for baseball, softball and track; sign up sheets were passed around for help.
VP Athletics – Garry Wolff: People are needed to work concessions.
VP Communications – Martin Heitkamp: Not able to attend
VP fundraising - Judy Hurt: Nothing to report
Membership – Debbie Willard: Not able to attend. Lynn did mention that everyone has to be a member to vote at the next meeting
VP Concession – Diane Portis: Concessions are going well. We will need volunteers.
Administration: Mr. Brad Martin: Mid May Senior news letters will go out. Honor Convocations is June 8th. Senior Prom is May 26, $50.00 a ticket. June 10th is Graduation and Senior All Night Party. We need some to represent Warren Mott High School for the Health Council, please let Lynn know if you are interested.
Athletic Director: David Noble: Varsity Baseball is doing well 8 -3 came in second place at both tournaments. Junior Varsity is 5-4 - freshmen 2-6. Varsity softball is 2-5 Junior Varsity 2-6 Freshmen 0-3. Varsity Soccer 2-1-3, Tennis 1-2 Track 1-0-1, girl’s track 2-0. Big Dates coming up are Friday May 19 track regional $5.00 at the gate, May 24 track Division $4.00 at the gate May 26 track County $5.00 at the gate. Saturday June 3 baseball districts $5.00 at the gate.
New Business:
We need someone to take care of nominations: Susan Brown volunteered 939-8324 give her a call if you would like to nominate someone for a position. Pam Cochrane and Debbie Walsh were nominated to run as co-chair persons for concession.
Mr. Oravec is asking for $500.00 from the boosters to have a student attend the Lincoln Douglas Debate Finals. 100 students will attend in Chicago and we will have a freshmen Lorraine Abdulabad represent Warren Mott High School. Lorraine is one of the National qualifiers. Susan Brown made the motion that we will give Mr. Oravec the $500.00, but first asked the School Board to represent this student and give the $500.00 from the board, if they reject the Boosters will give the $500.00 to Mr. Oravec. Gail Black second, all in favor.
$18.00 was asked of the Boosters for Cayce Bolt for the State Championship T shirt for diving. Linda Rotarius made the motion for $18.00 second by Wendy Haberski. All in favor.
Mr. Wright had the Warren Mott Store opened – only 2 more booster meetings left for shopping.
Marquee for the outside of the school – The district is purchasing this marquee for all 3 high schools. The bids are running from $142,000.00 to $80,000.00 for all 3 schools. Mr. Martin is asking $3,000.00 from the band booster, $3,000.00 from the boosters, and $3,000.00 from leadership. Mary Herzig made the motion to give $3,000.00 for the marquee second by Gail Black, all in favor. The booster will give their donation of $3,000.00 when the board approves the bid to purchase the marquee.
Veramay Scholarship – Susan Brown – Letters went out and are due back Wednesday April 26, 2006
Committee Reports – All Night Senior Party – Sharon Ouvry chairperson: Next meeting will be after the booster meeting tonight and the last meeting is Monday May 22, 2006. We need help from all parents. Sharon Ouvry asked the booster for the $1,000.00 that is allocated from the boosters. Approved, and a check was received.
