Call to Order - The meeting was called to order at 7:05 PM.
President: Lynn DiBartolmeo: Thanked everyone for coming.
Minutes Secretary – Sharon Ouvry: The report was read. Susan Brown made a motion to accept the minutes, Mary Herzig second, the minutes stood approved.
Treasurer’s Report – Doug Ouvry: The report was read. Kim Mutschler made a motion to accept the report, Lynn Parush second, the report stood approved.
VP Academics – Nancy Brown: Snow Coming Dance is February 10, volunteers are need for decoration at 8:30 am and the evening at 7:00 pm – Love Struck is the theme of the dance.
VP Athletics – Garry Wolff: Help is needed for basketball and volleyball security and ticket takers.
VP Communications – Martin Heitkamp: Euchre party information will be posted on the website
VP fundraising - Judy Hurt: Was unable to attend. Still collecting ink cartridges and paper.
Membership – Debbie Willard: Make sure she has your e mail address, if you have not been receiving an email regarding the booster meetings, she does not have you address. We have 182 members; you have to be a member to vote.
VP Concession – Debbie Walsh, Pam Cochrane. Thank you to everyone for their help, parents from football, girls basketball, dance team, soft ball, band, volley ball, soccer, bowling, baseball. We need help for girls volley ball and wrestling concession, please sign up. Please sign up to help for the Euchre Party.
Administration: Mr. Brad Martin: MEAPS test are March 12, 13, 14, make up tests are March 19. The Art program had Scholastics Awards, out of 42 entries, 10% of the awards went to Warren Mott High School. Two Senior’s portfolio was sent to New York, Congratulations to Ashley Austin, and Ashley Parush. Melanie Duzyj was chosen to attended Student Race Relations on Martin Luther King Day, she spent the day with Governor Jennifer Granholm. Any students that need help in math, Mr. Cencich tutors after school on Wednesdays.
Athletic Director: David Noble: Thank you to all the volunteers that help, you are much appreciated. The first week in April, the Supreme Court will decide if they are going to hear if the sports seasons will change. This will affect Girls basketball to a winter sport, girl’s volleyball, boys and girls golf.
Liaisons: Girls volleyball won their tournament this weekend. Wresting is 2-0. Lacrosse has a roster 35 students signed up. The games will be at Carleton Middle School. Bowling- Girls Varsity 2-3, Boys 0-5 JV girls 0-5, JV boys 4-1. Dance team came in 6th place out of 17 teams at the Palace for a tournament. This is the first year that cheerleading is a sport; the girls have a good chance to go to the state finals. Band MSBOA is February 10, not sure at what school.
New Business: Candice Watts for Radio & TV station at Cousino not available, will table to next month.
Mrs. Dworkin Art Department is requesting $511.97 for digital camera equipment. They have to take a photo of each piece of art work. Susan Brown motion to give $511.97 to the art department for the camera equipment, second by Julie Sroka, all in favor, motion passed.
Mark Kovach has 25 students on the bowling team, requested ½ the cost of the bowling shirts $300.00. Motion made by Ron Grobbel, second by Wendy Haberski, all in favor, motion passed.
Old Business:
Euchre Party will be March 16, pizza salad will be served, and beverages can be purchased. You have to be 21 to attend. 50/50 tickets will be sold, Piston tickets will be raffled. There will be first, second and third place pay offs. We are trying to fill 40 tables.
Committee Reports – All night Senior Party – Sharon Ouvry chairperson: Next meeting is tonight after the booster meeting.
Comments: NHS is looking for funds for the group. They are responsible for taking the paper from the class rooms to the recycling bin in the parking lot. Lynn made a motion to give them the checks we receive for the recycle paper, Motion made by Julie Sroka, second by Linda Rotarius to give NHS the recycling paper funds. All in favor, motion passed.
