In balloting
that took place after the state finals matches in Lansing a few weeks
ago, the divisional and county All-Star teams were chosen by the coaches
of the Michigan High School Southeast Regional Conference. The varsity
boy's and girl's teams from Warren Mott were well represented on both
teams.
The divisional
all-star team was selected using one bowler from each participating
school on the first and second teams, with honorable mention status
to those who earned their place on the team. For the boy's, junior Brian
Lake was voted as a first team selection and captain of the team.
Brian's 218 average and 298 game were division highs this season and
he contributed greatly to the teams unbeaten season and 4th place finish
in the state finals. Voted to the second team was junior Justin Neiman
who was second in average with a 217 and he rolled a high game of 279
and a high series of 514 this season. Justin also lead the division
in match play wins with a fine 19-1 record. Receiving honorable mention
awards were senior captain Jon Kennedy, junior Paul Narlock
and senior Chris Lepkowski. This meant that all five of the starting
members of the boy's varsity team made the divisional all-star squad.
But the accolades were not done yet.
In voting
for the All-County team, the Warren Mott boy's continued to dominate
the field. Voted to the first team were Brian Lake and Justin
Neiman. They joined Ryan Mitter (L'Anse Cruese North), John Kelley
(Stevenson), Brandon Dean (Anchor Bay) and Nicholas Faber (Henry Ford
II) as the best the county had to offer. Jon Kennedy and Paul
Narlock were voted to represent Warren Mott on the second team for
the Macomb County All-County team.
The Lady
Marauders also earned their share of post-season honors as all five
team members were voted to the divisional all-star team. Sophomore Jessica
Tyler was voted to the first team as she finished with a team high
153 average and a 211 single game score. Sophomore Lindsay Felix
was voted to the second team as she finished with a 152 average and
did an excellent job as the anchor bowler for the undefeated Girl's
Varsity team. Give Honorable Mention were Junior Nicole Griebe,
Sophomore Nikki Wilczek and Sophomore Kim Felix.
The coaches
awarded both Jessica Tyler and Nikki Wilczek Honorable
Mention statuses on a talent laden All-County team. The first team consisted
of Melissa Paul (Warren Cousino), Krystle Coggins (Anchor Bay), Pam
Oriold (Stevenson), Lauren Gdula (Lakeview), Kim Maddy (Utica) and captain
Melanie Bogden (Stevenson). Congratulations to all the bowlers who were
selected as All-Stars. They all worked hard this season to showcase
their talents and they have truly earned the status of divisional and
county all-stars.
