Water Wars
As the weather warms up, many of our seniors are getting excited about participating in “Water Wars.” While this can be a fun and creative way for students to enjoy time together outside of school, we want to address a few important safety concerns.
First, please note that Water Wars is not a school-sponsored activity. Warren Mott High School and Warren Consolidated Schools are not involved in planning, organizing, or supervising this event. Any actions that bring the event onto school property, involve staff members, or disrupt the school day will result in consequences if school rules—as outlined in our Student Code of Conduct—are violated.
We’ve become aware of some safety issues that have occurred during past Water Wars events, including:
Unsafe Driving: Some participants have been seen speeding through parking lots or driving recklessly while chasing others. This behavior is extremely dangerous and puts both drivers and bystanders at risk.
Realistic-Looking Water Guns: Some students have used water guns that closely resemble real firearms. This has caused fear and confusion in the community and could result in a serious or even life-threatening misunderstanding.
We encourage all senior families to speak with their students about participating responsibly and safely, should they choose to take part. While the game may seem harmless, any activity that puts others in danger or disrupts the school environment will be taken very seriously.
Thank you for partnering with us to keep our school community safe, respectful, and focused on learning.
